Stationskwadrant Heerhugowaard
In addition to the residential tower and the care building, a new, large puzzle piece is known, the Stationsquadrant.
The design of the Station Quadrant has a stepped structure. The design fits in well with the design of De Groene Trede, the residential tower and the care building in Heerhugowaard. It must become a homogeneous, small urban area with lots of greenery. It has to become a place where you want to be, not just where you go to catch the train, according to architect Paul Breddels.
The building consists of 2/3 houses, various in size and type and 1/3 shared living. Shared living means small living spaces for single-person households with shared facilities such as kitchen, recreation room and outdoor space. The plan is to place greenhouses in the outdoor area where the residents of shared living can grow vegetables together. This way of living creates mutual connection.
As a whole, much attention is paid to nature, including building. After all, green is good against heat stress, it captures particulate matter and CO2 and it is good for biodiversity.
