JUB Flower bulbs
WHO IS JUB HOLLAND
Royal supplier of colour
Our bulbs are colourful, as we are colourful; the fourth generation of a tight-knit family business, JUB Holland.
On the flat, fertile polder land-scapes of the Netherlands, we cultivate the most beautiful flower bulbs. In cities we design verges, parks and roundabouts, with JUB Landscape. In our test laboratories, we invent new types of tulips, in collaboration with designers and scientists.
We’ve been passionate about cultivating the finest bulbs since 1910. And the wonderful thing is, one hundred years after the founding of our company, we can now call ourselves supplier to the Dutch Royal Household. A great honour. We are a prize-winning international bulb company where 40 people work with the best of nature, each and every day. Our bulbs are cultivated as sustainable as possible. Nature is our foundation, and the seed for all success. We are grateful for what has driven us, through the generations.
JUB HOLLAND NOORDWIJKERHOUT
Jac. Uittenbogaard & Zonen BV (JUB Holland) is a traditional family business with a modern touch. Nurserymen since 1910, today we are still growing and exporting quality flower bulbs to more than 30 countries.
MISSION
“Our mission is to offer flower bulb products in the higher end of the market in Europe through innovative concepts, high-quality products and tailor-made programmes. These products are partly supplied by our own nursery, where the bulbs are grown in sustainable methods. Together with our dedicated staff we ensure a high level of service towards our customers and we contribute to a colourful environment ”.
VISION
“As a family business, we strive to be a reliable partner for our customers and our employees. Our goal is to build long-term relationships that create value for both parties. By continuously responding and anticipating to the changing environment and wishes of the customer, we remain an attractive partner, so that the continuity of JUB remains guaranteed and we can transfer a thriving business to future generations ”.
STRATEGY
JUB consciously chooses to be active in all four facets of the flower bulb trade, from breeding, growing and flower production to the marketing of bulbs.
Due to the specific product- and professional knowledge that has (and will be) gained in our own nursery and forcing activities, JUB is able to use that knowledge for its trading activities. This allows JUB to remain distinctive compared to its competitors at all times and JUB is always aware of relevant developments in the flower bulb market. Through participation with breeding company Remarkable, JUB also has access to the most exclusive tulip varieties.
The customer groups that JUB focuses on are mainly in the higher end of the market, because precisely these customer groups expect quality, expert advice, tailor-made products and service. Because the trading activities of JUB comprise three different branches, JUB is a flexible partner that is able to offer a total package to customers, which is particularly important for importers.
OUR HISTORY
The company started in Oegstgeest near Leiden in March 1910, combining keeping cattle with the production of vegetables and bulbs. Over the years the cattle and vegetables disappeared and the bulb growing expanded. In addition to growing them, the company also began to export bulbs around Europe, and eventually started producing cut flowers. In the 70s the company moved from Oegstgeest to Noordwijkerhout, the heart of the bulb industry, and expanded steadily.
In 2007 we moved to our purpose built modern premises, surrounded by our own bulb fields. One of the highlights of our company history was our centenary in 2010, when we were appointed as Holder of the Royal Warrant – a sign of quality that’s recognised worldwide.

ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY
The sustainable and environmentally friendly growing of flower bulbs is a priority for JUB. We aim to reduce our use of chemicals to a minimum, and we are an active Class A member of MPS, a standard-setting organisation that stands for sustainable quality. Through our hybridising programme we are working to improve the qualities of our tulips, reducing their sensitivity to disease. We also pay attention to the environmental issues raised during the packing and transport processes, ensuring a sustainable end product.
