New build showroom Ter Steege, Rijssen (the Netherlands) 2015
Ter Steege B.V. is a well-known international supplier of pottery, souvenirs and lifestyle articles with branches in Rijssen and Aalsmeer in the Netherlands, and in Brazil and Vietnam.
Breddels Architecten was assigned to design a large showroom measuring 1,500 m² for the flagship store in Rijssen. An unusually designed building has now arisen at the site of four old and decrepit Romney sheds. The accentuated diagonals and the daring use of colors make this a striking building. The structure has modern polycarbonate sawtooth roofs, a white-coated steel structure and an upper floor ensuring optimum use of available space.
The new structure has been built onto the existing showroom to create a floor area measuring no less than 2,500 m². Ter Steege needed this space to be able to display its consistently growing range for retailers and wholesalers.
The new structure has the look and characteristics of a greenhouse. Inside this greenhouse, visitors perceive the collection of outdoor pottery precisely as it should be, combined with living greenery. Various store displays, some of which have been newly developed, contribute towards an optimum experience.
