National monument from 1621
This characteristic monumental building, located in the center of Lochem, is a historic house with a fairly complete wooden half-timbered construction.
Lochem was hit by a large city fire in 1615. According to traditions, only the church and 4 houses were spared. Many houses, including Bierstraat 10, have been rebuilt in half-timbering. The property is also known as the "Saxon Monument" because of the visible wooden structures in the facades.
The property currently houses a restaurant with an upstairs apartment. After restoration, there will be space on the ground floor for a catering facility. On the first floor, 2 rental apartments will be realized.
From the end of 2021, these will be available for rental through Makkinga de Haan Schippers makelaars.
