Modern and maintenance-free home

A modern house has been built on the edge of Heerhugowaard with a beautiful unobstructed view over the meadows behind.
The client's wish was to build a modern and low-maintenance home on a spacious plot with a panoramic view, but with the amenities of Heerhugowaard nearby. This spot was found on Jan Glijnisweg, where the modern white stucco house, together with three other houses, also designed by Breddels Architects, gives a new interpretation to a former greenhouse complex.
The white stucco in combination with the black aluminum frames and the zinc roof that extends to ground level give the house the desired modern look. The carport has been co-designed in the sleek play of lines and continues above the entrance. Under this carport is also the access to the utility room, which is made of a beautiful modern extra long black brick. The dormer windows on both sides of the house are made of plastic facade parts, which cannot be distinguished from real wood and therefore provide the heat, but not the maintenance.
The house has a spacious living room and kitchen with a wide view of the landscape behind through the enormous glass windows in the rear facade. On the first floor, next to the sleeping quarters, an office and bathroom are located, which are equipped with a loft and large windows with again a magnificent view.
